About this event
NAMI Family-to-Family is a free, 8-session educational program for family, significant others, and friends of people with mental health conditions. It is a designated evidence-based program. This means that research shows that the program significantly improves the coping and problem-solving abilities of the people closest to a person with a mental health condition. The program is taught by NAMI-trained family members who use their lived experience to address the isolation and stigma that family members experience regarding a loved one’s mental illness. Participants connect with others who have been there in a safe and confidential space and can talk openly about their experiences. They also learn: How to solve problems and communicate effectively with their loved one Self-care and stress management strategies How to support their loved one with compassion How to access local supports and services About various mental health conditions and how they affect the brain How mental illness impacts the entire family Location: SE Uplift, 3534 SE Main St, Portland, OR 97214 Schedule: Tuesdays from 6:00 to 8:30 PM Dates: September 29 – November 17, 2026 Register Here
