Acceptable uses

You may use the website to make personal plans, share links to individual event pages, and support noncommercial community activities. Event organizers may share links or limited information about their own events. Journalists, educators, and researchers may quote limited portions with clear attribution when their use is lawful and does not recreate a substantial event directory. General-purpose search engines may index public pages in accordance with our robots instructions.

Commercial permission is required

Businesses and other commercial users may browse the public website for ordinary internal purposes. Written permission or a separate data license is required before using Local Community Events data to publish, operate, enhance, or monetize an event directory, discovery product, mailing list, advertising product, analytics product, or other commercial service.

Prohibited uses

You may not:

• scrape, crawl, harvest, download, or query the service systematically, except for a general-purpose search engine complying with our robots instructions or access expressly authorized in writing;
• copy, aggregate, republish, syndicate, sell, license, or distribute substantial or repeated portions of event listings or exports;
• use the data to create, populate, compare, or maintain a competing event database, calendar, website, application, newsletter, feed, or commercial service;
• use event data for data brokerage, lead generation, targeted advertising profiles, or training or evaluating machine-learning or generative-AI systems without written permission;
• circumvent export limits, rate limits, access controls, robots instructions, or monitoring by rotating IP addresses, networks, accounts, devices, tokens, or other identifiers;
• remove or obscure attribution, source links, provenance, export trace codes, notices, or other identifiers;
• claim that Local Community Events data is your own, knowingly publish altered or misleading event details, or imply sponsorship or endorsement that does not exist; or
• interfere with the service, test it for vulnerabilities without authorization, introduce malicious traffic, or attempt to access nonpublic systems or data.

Event facts and third-party rights

Event facts may come from organizers and other public sources. Organizers and third parties may hold rights in their descriptions, images, names, and other content. This policy does not transfer those rights to Local Community Events or to you. Our own text, design, software, review work, proprietary metadata, and any protectable selection, coordination, or arrangement remain subject to applicable rights. Permission to use one item does not grant permission to reproduce the database or a substantial part of the service.

Monitoring and enforcement

We may use request patterns, keyed network identifiers, export records, and document trace codes to identify suspected automated collection or republication. We may throttle or block requests, revoke access, preserve relevant security records, investigate misuse, and pursue available remedies. A shared network or matching signal alone does not prove identity; enforcement decisions should consider the available evidence.

Accuracy and reporting

Event details can change. Confirm important details with the organizer before attending. Do not introduce errors or misleading changes when sharing an allowed excerpt. Report suspected misuse, inaccurate event information, or questions about this policy to support@localcevents.com.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the service changes. The effective date and version above identify the current text. Material changes should be reviewed before publication.
