Founder of Pyramid Atlantic, Helen C. Frederick developed Reading Road Studio (RRS) in 2016 in Silver Spring, Maryland. It is a space focused on hand papermaking as an art form, and guided by the same belief in collaboration that built Pyramid. RRS emphasizes hand papermaking opportunities for artists interested in papermaking as a translucent material, in combination with print media and mixed media, and as a painterly or dimensional element within their work. RRS sparks dialogue about how contemporary art remains deeply connected to past traditions while continually inventing new concepts of materiality. Artists: William B.
