@ Community Meals is Hennepin Avenue UMC’s hospitality and feeding ministry. For over 30 years, we’ve been part of a downtown church consortium committed to providing a hot meal on Sunday evenings to low-income and homeless people. Hennepin participates in hosting the Community Meals program on the 1st and 5th Sundays of the month. We share this hospitality with a rotating group of congregations. 10-15 volunteers welcome 50-70 guests to a delicious dinner. While serving meals is the key component, this is a ministry of welcome as we share God’s love with our neighbors. If you are interested in volunteering, please sign up here ! Community Meals are on the 1st and 5th Sundays of each month at Hennepin. No training is needed. Kristy Barnes Certified Food Safety Manager and is licensed by the State.
