Free-Range Carving and Stitching Meetup | Thurs. Oct 8, 2026 | 5:30 – 7:00 pm ET | In-person Click HERE to RSVP Grab your whittling tools and wood or needle and thread for an evening of carving, conversation, and camaraderie. This is a free-range event, not a class or workshop, so bring your own hand tools and supplies. While you’re here, get inspired by our current exhibitions, Out of Place WARP Wood 2026 and A Room of Their Own. Out of Place features the work created by six artist fellows during the two-month-long Windgate Wood Arts Residency Program (WARP-Wood) and emphasizes the research, exploration, and the opportunity to work in a collaborative environment. Also on view in the Museum’s research library is A Room of Their Own, presenting the work of ten artists; while you’re upstairs, be sure to explore our permanent collection of over 1,400 objects. Don’t forget to shop our Museum Store for unique handmade objects, jewelry, artworks, and books. This event is free to the public. The Museum for Art in Wood interprets, nurtures, and champions creative engagement and expansion of art, craft, and design in wood to enhance the public’s understanding and appreciation of it . A suggested donation of $5 per person enables us to provide programs and exhibitions throughout the year. DONATE Questions?
