FREE · March, rally and party in Jersey City from City Hall to the waterfront, with speakers, music and a cultural celebration. MARCH, RALLY & PARTY - Saturday, October 3: gather at 1 PM at Jersey City Hall, 280 Grove Street. The waterfront program closes by 5 PM. - March route: Jersey City Hall → Montgomery Street → Exchange Place → J. Owen Grundy Pier. - Speakers include Renee Washington, ESPN college sports color commentator and sideline reporter, and Kristy Drutman, environmental educator behind Brown Girl Green and co-founder of Green Jobs Board. - FREE and open to the public. Bring friends, costumes, signs, noisemakers and instruments. Dress comfortably and be ready to dance. FULL-DAY PROGRAM · SATURDAY, OCTOBER 3 - 12:00 PM: NJ Climate Week team and production meet at Jersey City Hall, 280 Grove Street. - 1:00 PM: Public assembly and opening program at City Hall. - 1:15 PM: Opening remarks and community speakers. - 1:45 PM: March departs down Montgomery Street toward Exchange Place. - Around 2:00 PM: Music begins along the route. - Around 2:30 PM: Arrival at Exchange Place and J. Owen Grundy Pier. The waterfront stage is planned near the Katyn Memorial. - 2:30–2:45 PM: Waterfront community-speaker block, including Kristy Drutman and Renee Washington. - 2:45–3:15 PM: Hila the Earth, a 30-minute stage segment mixing music and community-focused remarks. - 3:15–3:45 PM: Gary Michael Houston & The Outfit, a 30-minute performance. - 3:45–4:45 PM: Mario and Salsa Fever on 2, with a lesson, social dancing and music. - 4:45–5:00 PM: Closing and public program wrap-up. GETTING THERE - PATH: Grove Street is closest to City Hall; Exchange Place is adjacent to the waterfront finish. - Hudson-Bergen Light Rail: Marin Boulevard is closest to City Hall; Exchange Place is adjacent to the waterfront finish. - Parking: downtown parking is limited. Consider Liberty State Park park-and-ride, then take the light rail to Marin Boulevard or Exchange Place. Check NJ TRANSIT service alerts, fares and accessibility information before traveling.
