The Georgia State University School of Music welcomes pianist and artistic director Daniel Anastasio for a full day of music at Kopleff Recital Hall. At 11:00 a.m., Anastasio leads a guest artist workshop — Stop Explaining and Start Connecting: How to Communicate Classical Music Through Feeling, Story and Sound — open to all students pursuing a career in classical music. Through online content and interactive live shows, Anastasio has built a following by bringing general audiences into the expressive world of classical music in a new way. This workshop explores how personal values, presence, storytelling, public speaking and deep preparation work together to better engage audiences and earn the attentive listening this music deserves. Whether you perform, compose or conduct, this session is for you. A soloist and chamber musician based in San Antonio, Anastasio has performed Bach's Goldberg Variations on harpsichord and premiered multimedia works on MIDI keyboard. He has led interactive sessions for music students at The Juilliard School and Bard College as well as for medical students at UT Health San Antonio, and served as Assistant Professor of Music and Director of Keyboard Studies at San Antonio College from 2018 to 2025 before turning his attention fully to performing and artistic direction. Anastasio returns to Kopleff Recital Hall that evening for a full recital at 7:00 p.m. Program to be announced. Free and open to the public.
