Emma Crawford Coffin Races
Saturday, October 24, 2026 · 10:00 AM – 5:00 PM CDT
Downtown Manitou Springs · League City, TX
About this event
In 1995, the Manitou Springs Chamber of Commerce started the first coffin races in the nation, in memory of a beloved resident of Manitou Springs. Since then, the races have grown into an often-copied-but-never-equaled Manitou Springs tradition. Teams compete in speed, coffin design, team names, and costumes. Coffins must meet strict specifications for safety and functionality. Over 10,000 spectators flock to downtown Manitou, most of them in costume.
