The internationally recognized, and highly rated American Airpower Museum WWII C-47 D-Day Living History Flight Experience takes to the air for the last time for the 2026 Season on Saturday October 10th! The American Airpower Museum Douglas C-47B flying over the South Shore of Long Island NY. Our immersive living history flight experience program lasts approximately 2.0 hours including your 20–25-minute flight in the Legendary WWII Douglas C-47 “Skytrain”. Our dedicated living historians take you through a moving and memorable history lesson about the Airborne and Troop Carrier missions that began Operation Overlord better known as D-Day on the night of June 5th into the historic day of June 6th 1944. You will gear up and then take to the air as a paratrooper of the 101st Airborne and learn about what it was like aboard the C-47s that historic night of nights.
