Park and Recreation · Upper Marlboro, MD
About this event
Forces of Nature presents recent works by Washington, D.C.-based artist Michele Banks, whose ink and watercolor paintings on yupo explore the invisible forces that shape our world—from microscopic atomic motion to the vast curvature of space. Drawing inspiration from physics and biology, Banks merges scientific imagery with a fluid, organic aesthetic, balancing precision with spontaneity. Through the interplay of charts, graphs, and expressive washes of ink, her work reflects on memory, connection, and what it means to exist within both natural and social systems. By bridging the rigor of science with the intuition of art, Banks brings warmth and accessibility to complex, abstract ideas.
