A strengthening El Niño episode is upon us and climate scientists predict a greater than 90% chance that this episode will rank among the strongest on record. This talk will explore how Equatorial Pacific Ocean temperatures impact weather patterns here in northern Arizona, and particularly how similar El Niño episodes have affected Flagstaff’s past winter seasons.
