About this event

Art on the Ave An Annual Art Festival in Downtown MHK Mark your calendar. Art on the Ave is coming to Downtown Manhattan on Saturday, October 3rd, from 4-7pm, and we are filling the Ave with art, music, and neighbors out enjoying it all. Join us for an art walk, the 3rd Annual Plein Air on Poyntz, and the opening reception for our October and November art show at 409 Art Space. Art Walk | 4-7pm Local artists are popping up inside businesses all along the Ave, including the First Saturday Art Market at SNW Gallery. Wander the block, meet the people behind the work, and support local artists in local businesses. Locations: Manhattan Brewing Company, Brew Deck: James Taylor Flight Crew Coffee: Mason Wulff & Anika Roy Rev Thread Boutique: April Spicer Midtown Art Space: Danielle Shamir (sculpture) & MHK Collective (pottery) Download the Art Walk Map Here. Plein Air on Poyntz – Live Painting | 4-6pm Watch local artists set up right on the Riley County Court House Plaza and paint the scene in front of you. The Haymakers are playing a free concert in that same spot, and the community weaving project will be out on the plaza, so come add a few threads of your own. It has been a rainy week, so bring your lawn chairs, pack a picnic or grab dinner to go from a favorite downtown spot, and settle in for a good afternoon of music and art. Sign ups are open now for artists who want to take part in Plein Air on Poyntz. Sign up here Art Show Opening Reception | 4-7pm at 409 Art Space with Artist Panel | 5pm Head over to 409 Art Space (409 Poyntz Ave) for the opening reception of our October and November art show. Lisa Ingram and Ginny Young are bringing a brand new exhibition to the space, and their work will be up through November. Pull up a seat and hear directly from Lisa and Ginny about how the work came together. It is a good chance to ask questions and get to know the people behind the pieces. Plein Air on Poyntz – Judging | 6:30pm Wrap up the day at Midtown Plaza (116 S. 4th St) for judging and an open gallery of everyone’s plein air submissions. Thank you to United Bank and Trust, Icon Investments, and Able Printing for making this event possible.
