About this event
REGISTER This event is for CRS members only. Learn more about membership at CRS here. Spend an afternoon at the New York Historical in celebration of America’s 250th! Join us for one tour or two and have a break in between to enjoy coffee and kibbitizing with fellow congregants at Café Clara. From 1 PM – 2 PM we’ll enjoy a guided tour through “Democracy Matters,” which explores how the concept of democracy has stretched, contracted, and shifted through key moments in the history of the nation; how competing understandings of it have come into conflict; and how those conflicts have reshaped its boundaries. From 2:30 – 3:30 PM we’ll be guided through “Revolutionary Women,” an exhibition that asks: How did the Revolution and living through the experience of war impact New York’s women—and how did women impact the Revolution in New York and beyond? CRS Outings is made possible by generous support from Marcia and David Lavipour, and Maxine Schweitzer. No refunds will be issued within 14 days of the event start date. All requests must be made in writing to crs@crsnyc.org.
