Garrison Art Center is bringing back our Artist Toolbox series—practical talks focused on the nuts and bolts of being a professional artist and maker—to help our community build skills that extend beyond the studio. This series offers conversations centered on the essential, real-world aspects of professional creative practice. NOVEMBER 1 11 AM – 12:30 PM Week 1: Show your work! Let’s talk about the work! Gallery and museum hierarchy – who to call? For this session, students need to bring copies of their slides or website with them. NOVEMBER 8 11 AM – 12:30 PM Week 2: Artists in Progress This session focuses on brainstorming sessions, artist statements, and deliverables. NOVEMBER 15 11 AM – 12:30 PM Week 3: LGO- Let’s Get Organized! We will wrap up the series by covering photographing work, archives, spreadsheets, titles, CV, press kit, and artist bios.
