The Italian Genealogical Group (IGG) is hosting its second bi-annual Virtual Italian Genealogy Conference. There will be 40 unique lectures on a wide variety of topics related to Italian genealogy, DNA, social & cultural history, and best research practices. Attendees can access all 40 lectures for 3 months after the conference ends. 10 livestreaming lectures (five on Saturday five on Sunday), which will be recorded. 20 early access pre-recorded lectures (available from Oct 3, 12 am ET). 10 additional lectures (available on October 17) The livestream lectures begin at 10 am ET on Saturday, October 17 with an opening keynote by Victoria Calabrese, Ph.D. Her lecture, “Death and its Aftermath: the Traditions and Beliefs of Our Ancestors,” sheds light on records as well as culture and traditions. The conference closes on Sunday with a great keynote by Kate Penney Howard, M.Div.: “The Stories They Told: Memory and Italian Families” from 4:30 – 5:30 pm ET. Join us at 5:30 each day for brief announcements and previews. All videos are recorded and will be available to watch after the conference ends, until January 2027.
