Understanding Other Cultures: Happy Diwali!

Join us at the Livonia Senior Wellness Center for our first Understanding Other Cultures session as we celebrate Diwali, the Hindi festival of lights, with food, crafts, information, and entertainment. Participants will create and decorate their own traditional clay lantern to take home, and enjoy a three‑course tasting menu featuring popular Diwali dishes including Samosa Chaat, Cholay with rice, and assorted desserts such as Gulab Jamun, Besan Ladoo, and Milk Burfi (menu subject to change; special dietary restrictions cannot be accommodated). This festive program for those ages 55 and older will be held on Saturday, Oct. 24, from Noon–2 p.m. in the Commons at 32001 Five Mile Road, Livonia. The fee is $15 for residents and $17 for non‑residents.
