About this event
Experience the joy of mountain biking with the MICL Trailblazers, a program designed specifically to welcome newcomers to the sport in a safe, fun, and supportive environment. Whether you have never ridden on dirt before or are just looking to build confidence on two wheels, our beginner clinic and ride is the perfect place to start. We focus on the fundamentals with some fun drills first —including proper body position, controlled braking, and balance drills —before heading out to practice your new skills on a short, easy loop through beautiful, scenic trails. The clinic portion is about 45 minutes and the ride is about 45 minutes. Participants should be prepared for 45-60 minutes of riding time, including some breaks. The trails we'll use are beginner level trails and there are some minor climbs, but no big hills. You don't need a high-end bike or fancy gear to join us; we are committed to making mountain biking accessible to everyone. Thanks to support from a Maryland Department of Natural Resources Outdoor Equity Grant, we are able provide loaner equipment for those who need it, ensuring that the only thing you need to bring is your sense of adventure. You can reserve your loaner bike with your registration. Our expert coaches and ride leaders will be right there with you, offering guidance and encouragement every step of the way to ensure you have a great trail experience.Join us on October 24, from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM, at Rosaryville State Park. Clinics are at 10:30 and 12:30. This event is all about community, character development, and discovering the outdoors, and we would love to have you part of it. Spaces are limited, so secure your spot and take your first step onto the trail. We can't wait to see you there!Important: If you are attending please complete this electronic liability waiver ahead of time to save time and save/screenshot your completed waiver or confirmation email or you will have to complete the waiver again on site Find the waiver here : https://app.hellosign.com/s/GUoBgIVwYour Host: "Trailblazers" is an outreach program from The Maryland Interscholastic Cycling League - Maryland Chapter of NICAWe believe bikes are powerful tools to build strength, resilience, and character within a supportive community.
