Join us for a panel discussion inspired by Solidarity , a mural designed by artist William Estrada and produced by Dorian Sylvain with young professionals in partnership with the Chicago Housing Authority . The conversation will explore public art, community collaboration, and collective empowerment, moderated by Bernard Williams , a Chicago-based public artist with decades of experience creating civic works across the city. Don’t miss this opportunity to hear directly from the artists and organizers behind this powerful community mural. Dorian Sylvain is an interdisciplinary artist whose decades-long practice spans mural painting, scenic design, and curation, rooted in Afro-centric philosophies and mentorship from the Black Arts Movement; through her Mural Moves campaign, she has trained a new generation of artist-activists and earned honors including a 3Arts/Southwest Airlines Community Award and a Surf Point Foundation residency. William Estrada is a community artist and educator at UIC’s School of Art & Art History, whose work centers on building equitable futures through sustained, collaborative community projects. Moderator Bernard Williams is a Chicago-born painter and sculptor with a BFA from the University of Illinois and an MFA from Northwestern, whose public and gallery work has been exhibited nationally, including a permanent sculpture commissioned by the Chicago Transit Authority.
