About this event

Do you have a household item in need of repair? Don’t trash it! Come fix it for FREE at our upcoming Fix-It Clinic on Saturday, October 3 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Valencia Library (23743 Valencia Blvd). We will provide the space, tools and volunteer fixers to help you troubleshoot and repair your well-loved item. Whether it’s toys, bicycles, clothes or other items, bring it to the event for assessment, disassembly and possible repair. You will be provided a workspace, an assigned fixer, specialty tools and guidance to help you take things apart and identify problems. Even if your item cannot be fixed, you’ll learn more about how it works and how it was made. Registrants may bring in a maximum of 1 item to be repaired. Walk-ins will be taken on a case-by-case basis depending on availability. To sign up to bring in an item to repair, Sign Up as a Participant! Whether you are a natural problem-solver, have a knack for tinkering, or are an expert in a field, sign up to be a volunteer fixer for Saturday, October 3 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Valencia Library (23743 Valencia Blvd). Fixers help residents better understand how their item works, and how it can be repaired so it doesn’t end up in the trash. Event volunteers are also needed to ensure the event runs smoothly. Fixers and event volunteers must be at least 18 years old. To sign up to be a volunteer fixer or an event volunteer, visit City.sc/FixItClinicVolunteer. The Friends of the Santa Clarita Library will also have a variety of DIY and other related books available for sale. In addition, Environmental Services will have an information booth and public library staff will host a craft table to make beeswax paper.
